James Gilmore interviews Kiaran from The Sherlocks about their debut album, supporting Liam Gallagher and more

It must be pretty good to be in The Sherlocks right now.

The four-piece – made-up of brothers Kiaran (lead vocals and guitar) and Brandon (drums) alongside Josh (guitar) and Andy (bass) – released their debut album “Live For The Moment” at the end of 2017, have supported The Libertines on tour and have recently announced a support slot for Liam Gallagher.

The real break-through moments for the band have come from their electric live sets where their chemistry and expert live playing brings the crowd alive - playing sold-out venues across the UK as well as highlight performances at the likes of Reading & Leeds Festival... The Sherlocks have put all fear to rest and prove that the indie-rock resurgence isn't too far away!

Hyer's Highlights: Gun Control in the USA

The United States is not #1 in much. They are, however, #1 in mass incarceration and mass shootings.

On February 14th, at least 17 people, mostly children, were left dead after a 19-year-old man opened fire at a high school campus in Parkland, Florida. It is the deadliest school shooting since 26 were killed at Connecticut school Sandy Hook in 2012.


In retrospect, Sandy Hook marked the end of the US gun control debate, because once America decided killing children was bearable, it was over. Since that day, there have been 1600 mass shootings since.

As of now, thousands more Americans have been killed by guns since 1968 than in all US wars in history. Thoughts and prayers are now insufficient. The only possibly productive action is gun control.

The debate over guns is becoming more agonising and infuriating as each mass shooting occurs.…

On the surface, Facebook is one of the most successful businesses in history.

The overall picture is one of astonishing wealth and success. “The social network is increasing revenues at more than 50% a quarter, and earnings per share at more than 70%, making its profitability and growth light-years ahead of the average US-listed company” according to the Financial Times.

Yet despite this, the long-term picture looks very different. In fact, Facebook is accumulating numerous challenges, such as a decline is users and engagement. This week, the BBC’s media editor wrote an article titled ‘Eight reasons Facebook has peaked’.
