Underdog: Ameriie / NLA / Eli Sostre

1st June 2016 | Underdog

Each week, Nicolas-Tyrell Scott brings three upcoming hip-hop artists to the forefront in his Underdog competition. All you need to do is listen and vote to your favourite Underdog to win.

This week your three Underdog's are...

Ameriie - After changing the game with loud bass and sass fueled R&B which inspired tracks such as Beyonce’s “Greenlight”, Ameriie left the game for a while to marry and settle down. After what feels like a lifetime she’s back and armed with new material.

NLA - Brand new band NLA comprised of singers Nina, Jessica and Janeen arrived on the scene late 2014, having just signed to RCA and armed with a storm of a first single called “In This B*tch”. After just over a year in the studio the ladies have returned with their fresh EP “Past Due”.

Eli Sostre - This North American based R&B artist has been making moves in the last few years. He’s linked up with Amir Obe, written for some of the biggest up and coming artists and produces a lot of his own material. He’s recently wrapped out a great selling tour with Amir, and he’s been dubbed “One to Watch”.

The winner will be announced on Nicolas-Tyrell Scott's show on Saturday 7th May 2016, between 6pm and 7pm! Don't forget to vote and support your favourite Underdog.

Underdog: Liana Banks / Lil Uzi Vert / Avelino

30th April 2016 | Underdog

Each week, Nicolas-Tyrell Scott brings three upcoming hip-hop artists to the forefront in his Underdog competition. All you need to do is listen and vote to your favourite Underdog to win.

This week your three Underdog's are...

Liana Banks - Inspired by a powerhouse family who've been on Broadway and dabbled in the realms of jazz, Liana has been surrounded by talent since birth. Liana Banks paved her own success through featuress such as dancing for Chris Brown and writing for Nicki Minaj. The young artist showcases her full abilities on her debut “LVL UP” which see’s her smoky vocal and penmanship take the wheel.

Lil Uzi Vert - North Philly’s Lil Uzi Vert is taking the trap game by storm. With his purple hair and rebellious attitude the MC spits fire throughout every one of his songs. The production surrounding him is always hypnotic and adds an added presence around this artist. With his latest EP “Lil Uzi Vs The World” gaining favourable reviews and after shutting down SXSW, Lil Uzi is now rumoured to be on the XXL freshman list.

Avelino - This man is bringing a new edge to the UK urban arena. Telling his tales in a different, the lyricist gets deeper over rap beats which are reminiscent of J Cole and Kendrick Lamar. His clever rhymes and laid back vibe is the perfect breath of fresh air. After co-signs from the MOBOs and Wiley and an impressive EP release earlier this year, Avelino is ready for his moment of greatness.

The winner will be announced on Nicolas-Tyrell Scott's show on Saturday 7th May 2016, between 6pm and 7pm! Don't forget to vote and support your favourite Underdog.

Underdog: Derek Wise / Adrian Marcel / Raury

28th February 2016 | Underdog

Each week, Nicolas-Tyrell Scott brings three upcoming hip-hop artists to the forefront in his Underdog competition. All you need to do is listen and vote to your favourite Underdog to win.

This week your three Underdog's are...

Derek Wise - He has already been featured as MTV Canada's "One To Watch" and popular hip-hop blogs so he is definitely doing something right. The Canadian lyricist dabbles between laid back and chill production but his hard hitting lyricism makes him even more intriguing. Although he’s been around for a while now is time that Derek’s name is beginning to gain momentum.

Adrian Marcel - Coming from Oakland, he has been around since 2010 but gained real traction last year with his hit "2 AM" featuring Sage the Gemini. He’s already released several mixtapes with critical acclaim. Sonically his production backing is reminiscent of Kid Ink & Ty Dollar $ign but it’s his voice which really and truly makes him an artist which could really stick.

Raury - His debut album "All We Need" gained him a lot of attention but that's failed to translate in the charts. He has all of the components needed to be a long-term act in the industry. He can mix vastly different genres such as Country/Folk with Hip-Hop and Rap and it all sounds authentic.

The winner will be announced on Nicolas-Tyrell Scott's show on Saturday 5th March 2016, between 12pm and 1pm! Don't forget to vote and support your favourite Underdog.
