London Pride is the annual celebration in London for every part of London’s LGBT+ community (lesbian, gay, trans, queer, questioning, intersex, non-binary, asexual, polysexual, genderqueer and gender variant peple).

The event aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow them to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing.

And it’s a lot of fun.

Last year, our very own James Gilmore and Roman Armstrong attended Pride with Stonewall to experience it first hand.

But, the annual event (which includes a large Parade going through the heart of the West End) does cause some worry over fears of safety, especially following the recent attacks in Orlando on an LGBT+ nightclub.

James Gilmore interviewed PC Aaron Clarke about the Metropolitan Police’s strategy for London Pride and whether the recent incidents in Orlando have had an impact on Pride.

Broadcasted worldwide on W!ZARD Radio Station.
