After featuring in the song of the summer, ‘Say You Do’ by Sigala, nobody quite knew what to expect from Imani Williams before she graced the Main Stage at Sundown.

Before jumping on-stage, her DJ/hype-man made sure the crowd were ready. We immediately fell in love with him, at his positivity, and - as it would eventually turn out - he was by far the best thing about the set.

Following a poor rendition of ‘Say You Do’ - she went on to sing her new single (and another Sigala collaboration), ‘Don’t Need No Money’. This song was instantly likeable and drew an-ever growing crowd. But as soon as we were won over, the set was over.

“Those were my two songs” she said, before going into a short medley of covers including Fifth Harmony’s Work From Home, ZAYN’s Pillow Talk and classic Jade’s Don’t Walk Away. It was at this point that the audience grew to its peak and then she left the stage never to return.

A mixture of shaky vocals and karaoke-style performances made Imani’s performance a lowlight - other than her DJ, who carried the set forward with ease.

We are excited to see what comes of Imani Williams as she releases more singles and features, but she’ll need to up her game in the live arena if she’s to have any staying power.
