In the late 60’s, Adam Hargreaves (at the time, just seven years old) asked his father an impossible question: What does a tickle look like?. Ever since then, that very question has dominated his life.
In 1971, Roger Hargreaves (Adam’s father) published a book called ‘Mr. Tickle’, and from that the Mr. Men franchise was born.
Adam Hargreaves took over his father’s children’s book empire in 1988 and ever since then has been entertaining children around the world with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series – as well as creating one-off pieces such as Little Miss Princess in 2011 for the Royal Wedding.
Now, for the first time ever, the world of Roger Hargreaves and Mr Men collides with the world of Doctor Who for a series of books which sees some of the most famous Doctor Who characters materialised as Mr Men!
In this rare interview, James Gilmore interviewed the author and illustrator about the Mr Men series and the new collaboration where the world of Doctor Who collides with the world of Mr Men.
