Pop Stop is W!ZARD Radio Media’s pop brand. We track thousands of emerging pop artists and use data to track their future growth. Then we play their music on-air (Fridays, 3pm BST) and write about them right here to introduce you to your next favourite artist.
The world of pop music is filled with underlying references to sex – just read the lyrics to Little Mix’s “Power” if you need some erm…. education. But every summer there is one song which tackles the topic directly.
Last year it was NEIKED’s ‘Sexual’ and this year it’s Ghosted and their track ‘Get Some’.
Imagine if Julia Michaels was three men, or Calvin Harris was three men, or DJ Khaled was three British men.
The three men are responsible for some of the biggest tracks in pop history including Emeli Sande’s ‘Read All About It (Pt. III)’, G-Eazy’s ‘Me, Myself & I’ and music from Little Mix, Years & Years, Maroon 5, Sigma and more.
They are responsible for 5 UK #1 singles, 11 UK Top 10 singles and over a billion streams on Spotify.
And now they’re taking to the road to try it for themselves!
Their debut track, ‘Get Some’ features vocalist Kamille and is sure to be a summer hit. It’s essentially about someone and their… desire to… have a great time!
“When you call, when you call, when you call and I’m… Maury*” *a great reference to the TV host
“All my friends getting cake and I ain’t found nobody”
“Guess I ain’t the loving kind, I just wanna get some” What exactly she wants to get is up to all of our little imaginations…
It’s only a matter of time until this song is everywhere and your parents hear you listening to it and tell you to, “Stop listening to that pile of rubbish!”. But, that’s exactly what being on the rise is all about.
