Research conducted by the Women’s Resource Centre (WRC) found that women who had used women-only services greatly valued this support and an independent poll of 1,000 women across the UK found that 97% of those interviewed thought that a female rape victim should have the choice of accessing a women-only support service.
A network of 44 organisations, and 56 centres, Rape Crisis offer a range of support, advocacy, counselling and information in ‘safe spaces’. They are providing an essential service for the too many women and girls who find themselves in situations of despair following sexual violence.
On Generation You, Chloe Combi and James Gilmore spoke to Rebecca from Rape Crisis about the services that they provide, and question them on some trends and cases in this area.
Broadcasted exclusively worldwide on W!ZARD Radio Station.
