19 year-old Connar Ridd is living a life different from many other 19 year-old’s.
The indie rocker, who prefers the name FREAK has been called a “One man Nirvana” by The Guardian and has been on tour with bands at the top of the latest indie-rock wave – such as Sundara Karma, Bad Sounds and INHEAVEN.
Inspired by small town isolation (having grown-up on the outskirts of Essex) and having dropped out of Uni to stack shelves at his local Co-Op, FREAK’s future looks very different to his past.
His latest EP ‘I Like To Smile When I’m Sad’ and most recent single, ‘Money’ has received widespread support – so much so that he was invited to play ‘The Pit’ stage at Reading Festival this year.
Alex Irons interviewed FREAK about performing at Reading Festival, his new music and more.
