Spoken word poet and future space tourist Hussain Manawer meets NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly

We would be lying if we said we didn’t think that sometimes we help make dreams come true.
When we were planning our interview with NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly (click here to watch James Gilmore’s interview), we knew that there was at least one other person who just had to meet the American hero.
Hussain Manawer is a renowned spoken word poet, mental health advocate and future space tourist. In 2015, Hussain (from Essex, London) won a competition to become the first British Muslim to go to space – a prize expected to be delivered in 2018, after he has been put through a training programme.
It only made sense to make sure that he had the opportunity to ask Scott Kelly a few, choice questions exclusively for W!ZARD Radio Station.
In his new book ‘Endurance’, Scott Kelly touches on what’s happened to his body, the sadness of being isolated from everyone he loves; the pressures of constant close cohabitation; the catastrophic risks of colliding with space junk, and the still more haunting threat of being absent should tragedy strike at home.
