Meagan is still figuring it all out, like the rest of us. In her blog, titled ‘Figuring It All Out’ she talks about life and, mostly, how she’s still figuring it all out. You get the point of this now? Great

I was just having a nostalgic moment about an obsession I had – and one that’s still real, to be honest – with the Jonas Brothers.

As I was talking with my friends and going down memory lane, and convincing myself all over again that I’ll marry Nick Jonas someday, it totally dawned on me that their album ‘A Little Bit Longer’ dropped in 2008. 10 YEARS AGO! Say what?!

I can still sing along to every song making it feel like I just learned all the lyrics 2 months ago and in reality I have been obsessing for 10 years now. It got me to thinking about how many other albums dropped in 2008 that I love so I did some research and here are some of my favourite albums that are turning 10.

Kanye West – 808s and Heartbreak

I was a bit shocked to see just how old this album actually is and I definitely woke someone up in the middle of the night just to mention it to them. This is the album that put him on my radar. It’s the album that gave us ‘Love Lockdown’ and ‘Heartlesss’ – songs that still appear on my playlists to this day. Back then we probably never thought we’d meet phases such as Yeezus and Saint Pablo and witness a tour with a floating tilted stage but yeezy yeezy know it all.

Adele – 19

*Screams at the top of my lungs over this one*. If you know me, Adele is my queen. To me, she doesn’t produce anything horrible and we can start right here with the album that gave the world the perfection that is Adele. January 28th, 2008 is when 19 blessed this earth and our ears were filled with hard hitting songs we can all relate to. Who else remembers her rolling around on pavement for the ‘Chasing Pavements’ music video?! I sure do (I still watch it okay?!) this woman creates everything I need in songs.

Taylor Swift – Fearless

Cause when you’re fifteen and somebody tells you they love you, you’re gonna believe them...” – that’s exactly how old I was when this album came out and Taylor knew how to relate to a typical high school student that was just trying to work out how life worked out. Who knew bask then that the country girl we blasted in trucks riding down dirt roads would become one of the worlds biggest pop acts (and have me going crazy trying to get tour tickets). “Back then I swore I’d marry him and I realized I had bigger dreams” thanks Taylor. I thank you for being so fierce sometimes.

Beyoncé – I Am… Sasha Fierce

Before she carried around a bat and hot sauce, Beyoncé was making all us single ladies dance and telling those boys to put a ring on it. From ‘Halo’ to ‘Video Phone’, this album brought the heat and an album we probably still carry around in our cars or on our cell phones because Queen Bey 5 life.
