The Forever Conversations is our series of conversations exploring mental health issues and some of the struggles that we face whilst growing up. The Forever Conversations are presented in partnership with John Green’s new book, “Turtles All The Way Down”.
Frank Hamilton is a London based musician who’s appeared at the top of the iTunes charts and has co-written music with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Newton Faulkner. His latest album, “Songs To Make Life Slightly Less Awkward” was released in late 2016 to acclaim from The Independent, TFI Friday, Radio X, HMV, The Mirror, Clash Magazine and more.
Frank is also outspoken about mental health – it’s a topic he includes in much of his music, and he’s written articles for the likes of the Huffington Post (read here) on the matter. Like most people, mental health is something which touches Frank almost every day.
In John Green’s new book, “Turtles All The Way Down” as 16 year-old Aza Holmes attempts to pursue the mystery of a fugitive billionaire, she has to overcome her own issues, including multiple anxiety disorders, along the way. Just like Frank Hamilton, Aza Holmes proves that nothing is too great a challenge to prevent you from reaching your goals, and that the situations you are in today, are not your forever… “Your Now Is Not Your Forever”.
James Gilmore interviewed Frank Hamilton for ‘The Forever Conversations’ to find out more about the link between his music and mental health.
