The past couple of years have been a period of growth for Bea Miller.
The pop star, who first found fame as a finalist on The X Factor (US) and shortly after signed to Hollywood Records, had to work out who she wanted to be after releasing her Top 10, Gold certified debut album ‘Not An Apology’ and touring with Selena Gomez.
What she found – and what fans are now enjoying – is a confident pop star who’s not afraid… in fact, who makes it her duty to just be herself.
Almost three years after the release of ‘Not An Apology’, in February 2017 Bea Miller began releasing a trilogy of EPS – ‘Chapter One: Blue’ featured hit ‘Song Like You’ and other songs about darker times; ‘Chapter Two: Red’ was about her anger at allowing herself to get down, and by ‘Chapter Three: Yellow’ (released in October 2017), she was a self-aware pop star with hits ‘repurcussions’ and ‘S.L.U.T’.
In between, she also released one of our favourite songs of 2017, ‘Brand New Eyes’ for the film Wonder starring Jacob Tremblay, Owen Wilson and Julia Roberts.
Now, the three EP’s come together to form an album (alongside other new tracks): Aurora - an album which tracks the rise of a pop star who deserves to reach arena status, and is sure to do so on her own terms.
James Gilmore interviewed Bea Miller about releasing sophomore album Aurora, writing S.L.U.T after being shamed and what else is coming up in 2018.
