Particular highlights from Saturday were Delta Rae) with an extremely emotional and heartfelt performance of single ‘No Peace In Quiet’ and a powerful performance of ‘A Long And Happy Life’) as well as Walker Hayes who impressed as fans sang along with ‘You Broke Up with Me’.
Danielle Bradbery drew a massive crowd – her biggest ever in London – who were full immersed in her vocally stunning performance of hits including ‘Worth It’ and ‘What Are We Doing’ – as did LANCO who drew a roudy crowd and played to the room well. Lindsay Ell also knew how to threw a good rock show and showed herself to be a worthy recipient of W!ZARD Radio Station’s Country #1 record this week!
In the Main Arena, particular highlights were Luke Combs who has one of the best male voices in modern country music. Performing hits from 2017’s ‘This One’s for You’ – he was rivalled for ‘fan favourite’ by Sugarland (the duo made-up of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush) who, having only just released their first single in 7 years last December, had as big a fan reaction as ever!
Kacey Musgraves headlined the magical night. There has been much talk recently about Kacey potentially being the next cross-over country success… and she proved that potential with her headline slot.
Opening with ‘Slow Burn’ – an unreleased track from upcoming third about ‘Golden Hour’, Musgraves played a varied set featuring songs from her classic country sounds all the way to cross-over tracks, including stunning new single ‘Butterflies’ which is already on over 1M streams on Spotify after just 2 weeks.
She also performed a cover of Miranda Lambert’s song ‘Mama’s Broken Heart’ (famously written by Musgraves) as well as hits ‘Follow Your Arrow’ (ending the set before the encore) and ‘Merry Go ‘Round’ (opening the encore).
