A few years ago, Lawson were becoming one of the biggest boy bands in the UK.

Fronted by charismatic singer-songwriter Andy Brown (who named the band after a Liverpool-based surgeon who had performed live saving surgery on him), the band were signed to a major label and had released two Top 40 charting albums, including 2012’s Gold certified ‘Chapman Square’.

But then, it was time for a break. And, for Andy Brown it was time to go and do the thing he loved most: make country music.

At the end of 2017, Brown came out with the first nod to his new country sound, track ‘Landslide’ featuring Crissie Rhodes from record breaking UK country duo The Shires.

More recently, he has come out with an EP of cover songs (‘Country Sessions Vol. 1’) and single ‘Talk Of The Town’.

James Gilmore interviewed Andy Brown about life post-Lawson, his love for country music and more backstage at Country To Country Festival in London.

Broadcasted exclusively worldwide on W!ZARD Radio Station.
