The Clean Conversations are our series of conversations exploring addiction and the ways it impacts our lives as young adults. The Clean Conversations are presented in partnership with Juno Dawson’s new book, “Clean”.
Award-winning author Juno Dawson has released a new book called ‘Clean’. The book follows Lexi, a spoiled socialite who has hit rock bottom. After almost overdosing, her brother stages an intervention and takes her to a rehab clinic for troubled young people.
Growing up in a wealthy home, Lexi had everything she ever wanted and took it for granted. However, after her overdose, as she goes through her detox, she starts to open up and is able to re-evaluate the path she’s on. Stripped of her status, she is now free to laugh, dance, share and feel – and make true friends.
On one hand, ‘Clean’ tells the story of having to face the hard-hitting truth of being addicted to drugs, but it also tells a story of being grateful and realising everything you have.
On her radio show, Meagan asked the question: If you had everything you could ever ask for would you be appreciative for it, or do you think you would take it for granted? Here’s how some listeners replied...
