Robert Muchamore got his start in writing after his nephew complained of having nothing interesting to read.

Now, over 14 million copies of his books sold later, he has two award-winning and best-selling series: Cherub and the Henderson's Boys. Both center around the interesting subject of teenage spies - part childhood fantasy, but also part real-life controversy.

In his latest standalone book, Killer T, he sits at the cross-center of two major topics of conversation - the subject he's covered multiple times (teenage spies) and genetic modification. Set across 10 years in Las Vegas, the story covers an outbreak of a genetically engineered virus, and the aftermath in a changing society where futuristic science meets moral sensibilities.

Matthew Stiles interviewed Robert Muchamore the new novel, his best-selling series and the controversies at the heart of the issues he writes about.
