Jacob Banks has been the bastion of soul music in the UK for a long period of time.

From working with Wretch 32 on ‘Doing OK’ back in the early 2010’s to being featured on film and TV shows such as ‘Power’ and Denzel Washington’s ‘Equalizer 2’, he has continued to rise and gather new fans every day. Now, 5 years after releasing debut single ‘Kids On The Corner’, it feels right for Jacob Banks to release his debut album ‘Village’.

Featuring singles such as ‘Chainsmoking’, ‘Be Good To Me (feat. Seinabo Sey)’ and, one of our favourites, ‘Slow Up’ – ‘Village’ is a prime example of how Jacob Banks continues to strive to be at the forefront of the UK’s soul scene.

Myles McCaulskey sat down with Jacob Banks to talk about his career to-date, his feelings towards ‘Village’s release and whether he feels that his music has been appreciated enough in the UK.

Broadcasted exclusively worldwide on W!ZARD Radio Station.
